This pandemic has certainly changed how we celebrate weddings; however, intimate weddings are still possible, and at the Royal Institution, we would love to help you with your big day.
In line with current guidelines, we can offer ceremonies and receptions for up to 15 people in our welcoming, Grade-I listed wedding venue. Centrally located in the heart of Mayfair, just minutes from Berkeley Square or Green Park, the Royal Institution offers an exceptional wedding venue for your London celebration.
We offer a variety of rooms to hire all suited for small celebrations and intimate weddings. We have worked very hard over the past months to ensure we can support events with social distancing. We have achieved ‘Good to Go’ accreditation from Visit Britain, meaning we have gone above and beyond to make sure you can still have a special intimate wedding celebration with your loved ones while keeping everyone safe and comfortable.
With high ceilings and beautifully proportioned windows, our spaces offer natural daylight and a wealth of fine paintings and historical features all set against the backdrop of one of Mayfair’s most prestigious streets. The original marble Grand Entrance will wow your guests on arrival and will lead you to the first-floor spaces, all licensed for civil ceremonies and offers an adjacent space for a small drinks reception or a formal lunch. You can choose to say I-do in the Library, a historic Georgian room flooded with natural light or even our Lecture Theatre, Home of the Christmas Lectures. The Royal Institution venue provides plenty of photo opportunities to capture memories you can treasure forever.
Our rooms are stunning and steeped in history. Over the last 200 years, the Ri has been home to many eminent scientists whose discoveries have shaped the modern world; from Michael Faraday’s work on the electric motor to Kathleen Lonsdale’s pioneering use of X-rays to study crystals.
